Yu Suzuki’s much anticipated Shenmue 3 has succeeded in surpassing the $5 million funds objective on Kickstarter.
With just over a couple of days to go before the Kickstarter campaign for Shenmue 3 closes, the game managed to surpass the $5 million mark. The initial objective for the game’s development was $2 million, which was reached within the first week of the game’s announcement during the 2015 E3 press conference.
Suzuki had also revealed how he alongside his team will utilize bonus objective funds by adding additional content and depth to the game’s world. The $5 million mark is promised to bring siege and infiltration events based off the Warring Kingdoms period in Chinese history in the area of Baisha.
Shenmue 3 has gained a lot of momentum ever since its reveal during Sony’s E3 press conference last month. The game is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and PC, and development is expected to go at full pace once the Kickstarter campaign finishes in two days.
If promises are fulfilled, Shenmue 3 is expected to be at least as large as the original Shenmue, as suggested by Yu Suzuki recently.
