San Diego Comic Con 2015 is almost here and while there is a gaming presence with the likes of Call of Duty trying to get fans attention, all eyes are likely to be on Warcraft making the most impact.
With a panel in Hall H being announced for Legendary Pictures, it is expected that Duncan Jones’ latest movie based on the very popular game could take center stage. In fact Entertainment Weekly believe that the trailer will be shown at the panel which is happening Saturday, July 11.
When trailers are revealed at Comic Con this does not mean that we’ll get to see it yet. The trailers at the event can be for attendees only, though leaks can often happen. If we get lucky, Legendary may decide to drum up some interest in the film by releasing it onto the internet after the big reveal.
With the film not being due till 2016, fans of Warcraft will be eager to see any footage they can from the movie. While we’ve seen artwork from the film, and “unfinished” footage” not much has actually been revealed yet. The closer we get to the release though the marketing machine will kick into action and we’ll start to see some meatier footage.
Directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, and Dominic Cooper, Warcraft will look to escape the curse that many video game based films appear to fall under. While a few have managed to be entertaining enough, most have generally underperformed.
It will be interesting though to see if Jones, the director of Moon, can do one of the most popular online games justice and give them a film they all deserve.
