Although Ninja Theory’s Hellblade isn’t a sequel to Heavenly Sword, the chances are fans will have compared the two because of the similar style.
This is not a negative observation, but probably one that may lead people to make assumptions that don’t fit what the developers are trying to achieve.
Today the art director of Hellblade, Alessandro Taini (Talexi), has shared some artwork from the game that look at the design of some potential enemies. While not confirmed as being a part of the game yet, they still offer an insight into the artwork that is being created and what we may be up against.
Taking control of the main character named Senua, the game is aimed to have strong character-led stories, ninja-class melee gameplay and a unique art vision which is already shown not only in the trailer but this newly revealed artwork.
Said to be a journey into hell itself, the game will be debuting on Playstation 4 and PC. It will also be coming to Xbox One, but at a later date. With the problems with PC releases as of late it will be interesting to see how this release will be handled. Hopefully with such an interesting game, better than some other high-profile releases.
Ninja Theory not only worked on Heavenly Sword, but also Enslaved: Odyssey to the West as well as DMC: Devil May Cry, the reboot of Capcom’s Devil May Cry.
