Fallout 4 editions seem to be big news right now, especially with the Pip Boy Edition. Gamers who are looking to buy the game on Xbox One may be interested in an offer that has appeared on the Xbox One digital store. Offers may differ depending on your region.
If the game is pre-ordered now, in preparation for the November 10 release then they’ll be given a free copy of Fallout 3 for Xbox 360 for free. This is given in the form of a digital code that will be provided to the Buyer within 7-10 days of the pre-order being made.
Once this code is received, it can be used to unlock Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 straight away, and it is safe to assume that it will be made available to the Xbox One through backwards compatibility so that it can be played on the current generation console too.
It will be interesting to see if Sony do the same for the Playstation 3 version of Fallout 3. Though Sony have shown a reluctance for adding backwards compatibility to the Playstation 4, I’m sure there will be enough people with their Playstation 3 still around to make use of the offer.
One problem with this release of course is the fact that many people looking forward to Fallout 4 will be fans of the third game and already own it, as well as Fallout: New Vegas too. Will they rush to get a digital version of a game they already own?
If they sold their Xbox 360 when they moved to the Xbox One, chances are they also sold their Fallout 3 game too so this may be a perfect chance to revisit the game for free. I’m sure Steam will probably do the same deal too, this will probably be a decision for Bethesda to make though.
