We’re already informed about PlayStation exclusive content for Destiny. However, Bungie has now revealed that it plans to release something special for all players, regardless of which platform they are playing on.
In this week’s blog update, the developer is expected to talk more on how it plans to reward current Destiny players. The wordings will have to be delicate, specially after the recent controversy about Bungie being salty for being constantly poked regarding the ludicrous pricing of its new expansion pack, The Taken King.
Speaking with Eurogamer ahead of Bungie’s blog update, Creative Director Luke Smith said that in September, Xbox players will get access to Sony-exclusive Strike missions (Dust Palace, The Undying Mind), as well as exotic weapons (Hawkmoon, The Fourth Horsemen) and PVP maps (Exodus Blue, The Timekeeper).
“But we’re not just re-issuing them. We’re [also] refreshing them completely with the Taken,” noted Smith. “We want you to experience The Undying Mind completely as it was with the Vex, and also in a Taken-ified version. We wanted to make it feel like more than last year’s model.”
PlayStation owners will have the option of experiencing more difficult versions of the same Strikes, while the Xbox platform will get to play both the old and new models.
Smith also mentioned that Bungie is currently planning to only tweak these Strikes. The other PlayStation exclusive content (the Hawkmoon and Fourth Horseman weapons, and the Exodus Blue and Timekeeper Crucible maps) are going to left alone for now.
Destiny: The Taken King releases in September.
