Weapon XP and Weapon Level Progression will return to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer mode, David Vonderhaar has confirmed.
This is the same mechanic that Treyarch used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 where you had to use a weapon and complete various milestones to unlock Weapon Attachments and Weapon Camo.
Call of Duty: Ghosts, on the other hand, had a Squad Points system in order to unlock Weapons and Weapon Attachments.
Vonderhaar, however, did not confirm whether Weapon Prestige will return as well or not. Moreover, we also do not know how many levels a weapon will have!
In addition to this, Vonderhaar also confirmed that Specialist Characters in the game will have their own Progression System in which players will have to level up these characters by earning XP.
By leveling up Specialist Characters, players will acquire new Customization Items. Once again, we do not know how Character Prestiage will work.
In related Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 news, Treyarch has dissected the new weapons and perks in a couple of gameplay videos. To read up more, head over to the link.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is scheduled to arrive in November 2015 for PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
