Game Director of Bethesda Software, Todd Howard, appeared on the company’s first-ever Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 press conference to provide to detailed look at the upcoming post-apocalyptic role-playing game, Fallout 4.
Howard confirmed that the game begins before the nuke hit the in-game world which is where you get to customize your character. Fallout 4 will feature both male and female protagonists with extensive customization options.
The story of how your character survived the nuke is not divulged, but we do know that you emerge 200 years after the explosion from Vault #111. The game is created on a revamped engine which feature physical rendering among other notable features.
The game can be played both in first-person camera and third-person camera perspective. Your companion dog is one of the best things about the game and can be used to perform a variety of tasks including inspecting objects, attacking targets among other things. The game will also feature a ton of classic games including Donkey Kong.
I personally find the slow-motion camera effect exceedingly exciting which allows you to choose your shots before taking them.
Howard also confirmed Fallout 4: Collector’s Edition which comes with a physical copy of your in-game wearable watch which will work with your smartphone using an in-game companion app.
As far as the Crafting in the game goes, the game will allow crafting on the go; enabling you to build and dismantle things on the go. Amidst the large arsenal of already available weapons, the game allow you to build over 700 weapon modifications and help you create something entirely new.
Aside from weapons, you can also modify your character’s armour the way you wish!
The post-apocalyptic role-playing game was originally announced earlier this month for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. Bethesda has also confirmed that the game will not release on last-gen consoles i.e. Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 due to hardware limitations imposed by the consoles.
The upcoming iteration also takes place in Boston, but from Vault #111 unlike previous installments. The announcement trailer that accompanied the official announcement of the game contained a ton of details related to the game.
Fallout 4 is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 10, 2015 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
