2K Czech and 2K Games have constantly eluded the public as far as Mafia 3 is concerned, but there is some general expectancy that the open-world crime game will finally be revealed or at least ‘teased’ at the upcoming E3 event next week.
Earlier this year, voice actor Rick Pasqualone teased that an announcement of Mafia 3 was coming very soon. Massive online retailer Play-Asia had also leaked the possibility of Mafia 3 coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
However, no solid news of Mafia 3’s existence – let alone release time – has ever since come forth.
The previous Mafia game was released back in 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC after nearly 8 years from the original Mafia: The Lost City title. Ever since then, rumors of another Mafia game have come and gone.
The latest suggestion is that 2K Games will indeed be prepping at least a teaser trailer for Mafia 3 in one of the press conferences during the E3. Further details also suggest that the title will be released next year, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
There isn’t much to grasp on to as of now, but because of past hints, it can be said with certainty that Mafia 3 is indeed in development, and its public reveal is inevitable. Mafia 2’s narrative and gameplay certainly does encourage a sequel release.
This year’s E3 could be the perfect time for 2K to generate excitement and ready fans for another crime-based open-world game.
