Last month, we were told that Blizzard will not be adding flying into the new zones of the Tanaan Jungle, for World of Warcraft. The decision brought a lot concerned fans to social media, who criticized this move.
However, the developer of one of the most popular MOBA’s in the world, Blizzard, seems to have backtracked on this decision. But still, players will have to work hard to unlock this feature.
Lead designer Ion Hazzikostas revealed in a post that although there are plenty of “memorable moments” in WoW, that can only experience on foot, many fans want flying mounts to be in the game.
Hazzikostas says the development team at the studio has figured out a way to make flying possible without “compromising the excitement of ground-based exploration.”
The solution, according to Blizzard, is to earn this feature by unlocking a certain achievement. In patch 6.2, developer are adding a new meta-achievement named “Draenor Pathfinder.”
This achievement is a must have by at least one character in your account, to make flying possible. It won’t be easy to earn as players will be asked to explore every single new zone and collect 100 treasures.
On top of that, players will have to complete a number of other exploration-based achievements and raise three brand new reputations, coming along with Tanaan Jungle.
A post on Blizzard’s official blog reads:
We believe this strikes the right balance between ensuring ground-based content lives up to its full potential, while providing players who’ve already fully explored Draenor’s outdoor world extra freedom to ‘break the rules.
Patch 6.2 is still without a release date but it will be out soon. For more details, visit here.
