It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Devil’s Third, but that silence seems to have been eliminated with nearly 10 minutes of not-so-silent footage of the game.
The long trailer seems to indicate that Devil’s Third has gotten slightly improved graphics, and is staying true to its hack-and-slash based action. The action looks smooth as butter, and highly intense – something you’d obviously expect from Tomonobu Itagaki, the creator of the successful Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series.
Devil’s Third will take a more modern approach, basing its plot and setting on the Kessler Sydrome, where the destruction of all Earth satellites has resulted in war throughout the world, with military power in absolute chaos.
Devil’s Third will have conventional third-person shooter-styled elements as well as action hack-and-slash mechanics. The game is set to be released for Wii U on August 4 in Japan on the E-Shop, and is an Amazon retail exclusive.
Currently, there is no word on when the game will be released for the western market, but we’re hoping to get news about that sooner rather than later.
