Today has found retailer GameStop restocking Amiibo figures from the Wave 4 and Splatoon sets. Don’t be surprised if you venture to the retailer’s website after reading this, and find everything marked with a dreaded ‘out of stock’ label.
The Wave 4 pack has been promised by GameStop to be restocked, again, when it sells out, which also shouldn’t take enough time once the word gets around. The retailer also has Charizard in stock at the time of writing. As for the Splatoon set, Inkling Girl and Boy are back up!
A week back, Nintendo announced that a total of six rare Amiibo figures would be back in stock with Japanese retailers next month. This pack includes the Marth, Ike, Lucario, Meta Knight, Lucina, and Robin figures. However, there was no clarification as to whether the figures will be crossing the sea to land in western stores as well or not.
Last month, the company apologized to its fan base for the increased shortages of Amiibo figures. They usually were sold out within hours of becoming available, leaving many consumers fuming while waiting to have them restocked.
Nintendo admitted that the sales for the product caught it off guard. “We understand how frustrating it can be at times if consumers are unable to find certain figures, and we apologize for that.”
The manufacturing amount is now being increased, and Nintendo also plans to improve its communications through social media channels. Safe to say, players will find it a bit easier now to get their hands on their favorite characters.
