It’s hard to believe how much money has started to circulate in the pro gaming scene. Just now we were told that prize pool for Mortal Kombat X has been doubled by WB, and now have an even bigger, much bigger amount going into the prize pool of Dota 2 The International 2015.
According to the announcement, Dota 2 The International prize pool has reached a record $11 million, I repeat 11 million dollars!
Want to know who was the previous record holder? It won’t surprise you that it was Dota 2 The International 2014. The event offered $10,930,698 by the end.
For The International 2015, Valve started proceeding 35 days ago and has still 65 days to go. Valve it self contributed $1.6 million to the prize pot, and promised to add 25% of compendium earnings in as well.
Now, we are at $11 million and one can only imagine where the number will go for The International 2016. What’s even more impressive is that Valve is close to its goal of $15 million, which it set for the community. From the looks of it, they are not far away from reaching it.
