FIFA 16 Women’s National Teams Confirmed, Trailer Inside

FIFA has been around for 20 years, 22 if you include FIFA International Soccer but not once has the game featured female football teams although they have been there in the real world for a while now.

This is about to change with FIFA 16 as Electronic Arts has confirmed that 12 Women’s National Teams will be featured in the game.

Play as Women’s National Teams for the first time in the FIFA franchise. Choose from 12 teams and compete in Match Day, an Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly Matches.

The twelve teams that you will be allowed to choose from in FIFA 16 are Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy and Mexico. Some of the names of athletes that were mentioned by EA in the trailer include “USA’s Alex Morgan, Englands’ Stephanie Houghton,” and others.

Of course it goes without saying that female football teams will compete exclusively against other Women’s National Teams and not with the national teams and clubs with male athletes.

All this news was accompanied by a trailer that features some of the real athletes as well as clips from FIFA 16 itself.

We have embedded the trailer above, check it out and tell us what you think.
