Well, don’t kill me if I spoil anything for you but it is now known that the first season of The Flash ended with Barry Alan travelling back in time.
As soon as the topic of time travel comes on board it opens the scope of the season to a much larger spectrum. We have events of the past, we have the future – and more importantly we have the future of Barry Alan!
Now it is expected that Barry’s journey to the past is not going to be smooth, we will find out more about that in the second season but actor Grant Gustin, who plays the protagonist hints at these new elements forming an integral part of the upcoming episodes.
Gustin said that while the trip “doesn’t necessarily go as planned,” time travel is going to be much more common in The Flash season 2 because it will be used to introduce multiple timelines and multiple universes:
What’s fun about this show is that there’s going to be multiple timelines as we move forward. I think we’re going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future. There will be kind of different dimensions going on.
This just skyrocketed my motivation to watch the series regularly!
However, introducing these new elements are making things much more trickier, if Gustin’s co-star Carlos Valdes is to be heard:
It gets a little Rubik’s Cube-y in terms of keeping consistency between all these timelines and whatnot. But the writers have their stuff together. If I were to trust anyone, it would be them.
I say they have done a good job so far so they will pull it off nicely. What do you make of The Flash season 2?
