Over on the NeoGaf forums, user Sentient has warned all PC players of Grand Theft Auto V that some of their mods may be infected with mailicious virus software.
The viruses essentially feed your log in info directly to the hacker’s home base. Your YouTube, PayPal, Steam, Twitch, Facebook, etc.
Luckily, over on the GTA Forums, user “ckck” has detailed everything the viruses do and how to remove them in a safe matter.
So far only the “Angry Planes” and “No Clipping” Mods have been found to be infected, but research is still being done by the community to figure out all the different mods that this virus has infected. The good news is that it has been caught and contained.
I believe this is one of the first times a GTA V Mod has been hacked in this way but it’s great that the community have managed to catch it so fast. The GTA V online community continues to be one of the best around and this sort of news just solidifies it.
If you’re worried about whether or not your PC could be infected be sure to check out the GTA Forums for more information.
