Okay so Ubisoft, like all other companies at this time of the year, reported their sales and earnings for the fiscal year 2014-15 and this would not have been complete without talking about one thing i.e. Tom Clancy’s The Division.
The game has been in the making for a long time now and has actually garnered a hype around it that has been consistent throughout the months – although I must add that part of it has been due to the excellent marketing strategy being employed by the developers where they keep dishing out bits and pieces of information regarding the game every time things get a little cold.
This time however, many of the fans are going to be pissed because The Division has been delayed yet again! And while we are in the first half of 2015, they say that it will not come out until the start of 2016.
The earnings call mentions a Q4 release date in the financial year which will equate to the quarter starting in January and ending in March 2016.
On the topic of testing the game, he said that they wanted as much on feedback from alphas and betas for the game as possible:
We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch so it comes to the market with the best experience possible.
Do keep in mind that they have not formally announced either an alpha testing or a beta testing for the game yet.
Nonetheless, if they are not going to release The Division until 2016, there will be plenty of time for the announcements and testing.
