We have some great news for fans of Sherlock Holmes, according to a new announcement, the next Sherlock Holmes game is heading our way next year. The title will be developed by Frogwares Studio.
The news was announced in a press-release by Bigben Interactive, who is going to publish the title. Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive stated:
We are very happy with this partnership. We will provide Frogwares with excellent distribution and maximum media exposure for their Sherlock Holmes series.
Frogwares has done a tremendous job with Sherlock Holmes over the years and it’s because of them the series has gained so much popularity on gaming platforms.
Frogwares released Sherlock Holmes: Crime & Punishments last year on current and last-gen consoles in addition to PC. The game was received well by both fans and critics, doing well enough to deserve another installment.
Sharing his views about the deal, Waël Amr, CEO of Frogwares studio said:
We are delighted to team up on the development of a new Sherlock Holmes game with Bigben. We look forward to seeing this partnership flourish over the coming months, taking advantage of the energy they are ready to bring to the table.
In our turn, we are committed to create an engaging content that will satisfy any gamer willing to challenge their inner Sherlock Holmes.
Nothing is known about the game apart from its existence, but we can assume it will be developed using the newly released Unreal Engine 4. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Frogwares decided not to release the game on outdated hardware (PS3, Xbox 360).
Unlikely, but more could be shared at E3. Possibly a CGI trailer?
