Star Wars: Battlefront will not have iron sights for any of its weapons. DICE has confirmed.
Speaking in an interview with OXM, Executive Producer Patrick Bach confirmed that the suspicions of players are indeed true. The upcoming shooter will feature no iron sights, except for scopes on some rifles.
This rules out the possibility of players aiming down to zoom in to get a better aim at enemy targets. However, there’s the chance that DICE still includes some kind of zooming element, but it would be so without looking over your iron sights.
Bach did not mention as to why DICE has decided to do so. He, though, did remind everyone that they cannot expect everything to transition over from the Battlefield series.
“We’re not taking into account what we’ve done before, because I think that would be disrespectful to the fans, and to what we’re trying to achieve here.
“A lot of the things you saw in the game have nothing to do with anything we’ve done before. Some features of course resemble [our other shooters], because we want to make the best possible shooter, but in general we’ve tried to do something completely unique.”
Star Wars: Battlefront is scheduled for an official release on November 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. That is if everything runs its due course and there are no technical delays.
