Destiny’s September update may be titled The Taken King, according to new Bungie trademark. The description of the trademark reads:
Downloadable video games via the internet and wireless devices; Electronic game software for cellular telephones; Electronic game software for handheld electronic devices; Electronic game software for wireless devices; Game software; Interactive game programs; Interactive video game programs; Video game software.
A leaked internal schedule suggests that the sci-fi shooter will undergo a hefty overhaul this autumn to celebrate the game’s first anniversary. Furthermore, the expansion will bring more content than the previous expansions.
EuroGamer reports that the logo brings a reminiscence of the Hive and The Taken King may be a reference to Oryx – the father of Crota featured in The Dark Below.
The site also reports that The Taken King (previously referred as Comet) will bring Destiny to v.1.5 which will arrive wrapped up in a boxed version – probably as Destiny: Game of the Year Edition containing all previous DLC and expansions.
