The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have a day-one patch waiting for it, CD Projekt RED has confirmed.
Responding to a question on Twitter, the developer said that the patch was not born out of necessity. According to a series of tweets from level designer Miles Tost, the team never stopped working even when the game went gold last month. Continuous improvements and tweaking resulted in the patch, which will make the experience even smoother.
“We have one, but not because we need it, but because we want it to be the best it can be when it reaches your hands,” said Tost when asked about the patch.
He also made it clear that the patch only brings some “minor tweaks” and does not fix any major breakage in the game. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is good to play “as it is.”
This probably rules out the possibility of CD Projekt RED releasing a HD Texture pack for the game at launch; an assumption which was made based on some recent comparison images that suggest the game was downgraded from its original showing.
Perhaps it was our own naivety that made us believe there were still studios which do not believe in bullshots.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be out on May 19 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
