Activision has once again stirred the Nintendo users by making a comment that suggests a Wii U release of the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops 3 could actually get developed.
So far, the game has been brought up in connection with Nintendo Wii U twice. However, the news on both occasions purported the exact opposite of each other.
For instance, the Account Manage Page on the Call of Duty website was updated after the reveal of BO3 to include an option for linking a Nintendo Account with COD games. This suggested that maybe they had a plan for Nintendo’s home console.
Later on, however, Treyarch Studios stated explicitly that “there are no ports,” for the game and that they were “working on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That’s it.”
Naturally, this doused off all the expectations in the minds of the people for a Wii U release of Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
In an interesting turn of events, someone at Twitter inquired publisher Activision specifically about the aforementioned change on the game’s official website saying “why we can connect our Nintendo IDs to the Call of Duty site if you are not developing nothing [sic] for it?.”
Activision’s reply was “stay tuned for more Wii U releases.”
Now what on earth could they mean by that?
Could it be that Treyarch is not developing the Wii U version but another studio is (or will), could it be that they are saving the announcement for a later date as the other platforms might be of higher priority right now?
Or, could it be that Activision is referring to another game altogether?
