We know that Eidos Montreal is hard at work with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Deus Ex Mankind Divided. However the PC version of the long awaited game is not being made by them. Instead it is Nixxes Software who are going to churn out the Microsoft Windows version.
Famously known for Legacy of Kain and Tomb Raider titles alongside Blood Omen 2, Nixxes is a Dutch video game development studio that has primarily focused on porting games from various platforms.
The confirmation of their involvement in the PC version of Deus Ex Mankind Divided came from the official website of Nixxes:
Nixxes Software is proud to announce that we’re working on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PC. We have teamed up with our long term partners at Eidos-Montréal to create the best experience for Adam Jensen’s latest adventure, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on PC.
After announcing their role in the game’s development, Nixxes went on to talk about the game’s setting. Taking off right after the Aug Incident, Deus Ex Mankind Divided takes roots after mechanically augmented human beings have been pushed to the corners.
The year is now 2029, and the golden era of augmentations is over. Mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and segregated from the rest of society. Crime and acts of terror serve as a thin veil to cover up an overarching conspiracy aimed at controlling the future of mankind.
