P.T. or Playable Teaser was released last year for the now cancelled Silent Hills installment. The short demo gives only a taste of the potential of the project, which saw Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima partnering up with Film Director Guillermo del Toro.
News of Konami cancelling Silent Hills was disappointing enough. However, the publisher also decided to pull P.T. from the PlayStation Store. After today, you will no longer be able to download the demo. Thankfully, those who already have downloaded P.T. on their consoles will be allowed to keep it.
This has given a rise in PlayStation 4 consoles, loaded with P.T., selling for unearthly prices on eBay. Sellers have listed their consoles for as much as £1,000 ($1,500).
Pretty much everyone will agree that P.T. is a fabulous teaser, with its gritty corridors, haunting lighting, and of course the horrific face filling the screen at the end. However, does that experience demand such a staggering price?
That is left to consumers, who believe that a $400 console is worth getting for over a thousand, just to get access to P.T.
As for the future of Silent Hills, there’s little light on the horizon. Konami has stated that it is currently in talks over how to recreate the game following the departure of both Kojima and del Toro.
