Black Ops 3 May Skip Wii U, Treyarch Not Working on Any Ports
Remember how everyone was happy that the upcoming Call of Duty title, Black Ops 3 was also going to be released on Wii U? This expectation was raised by changes that were made to the Account Manage Page on the official website of Activision, but now they have been crushed.
Treyarch Studios’ head Mark Lamia was attending the official reveal event of Call of Duty Black Ops 3 where among the fans of PC, Xbox One and PlayStation, the fans of Wii U were also looking out for some love.
However, Lamia has clearly stated that thy are not working on anything for the home console of Nintendo. Bad luck guys:
There are no ‘ports.’ The game is made on multiple platforms, it’s the beginning of a new generation and we’re showing it to you on all these platforms, to dispel some of the misconceptions about development. We’re working on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That’s it
So there are no ports, no Wii U, no PlayStation 3 and no Xbox 360. Well, the last two were expected but many of us really expected the game to be released on Wii U.
That being said, even the publishers are not committing to anything at the moment.
Whether it is a delay in revealing something or simply a decision to ignore Wii U, Activision says that they currently do not have any announcements to make other than the ones that came at the official reveal of Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
