Terraria Has Sold 500K Copies in Japan, Says Spike Chunsoft

Fans of Terraria should be happy to know that they are not the only ones who are going bonkers over the game. In fact, Re-Logic has managed to pull in hundreds of thousands of other like you from all the corners of the world.

For instance it was recently revealed by Spike Chunsoft, the publishers that their game has managed to sell 500,000 copies in Japan alone!

The figure was revealed by the officials to Japanese magazine Famitsu where they have also confirmed that this figure includes digital as well as physical copies of the game.

I guess the localized cameo characters introduced by Re-Logic for the Japanese release of the game are actually paying off. I am certain that Monokuma from the Danganronpa series was a downright hit in the country.

Just a couple of days ago the Frost Moon update was released on the console versions which has added new items and much tougher enemies to the game. That comes in addition to the fact that the game’s PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version was launched with over 1000 items already!

In related news, Terraria Outerworld has been announced by the developers a couple of days ago; it will be an “innovating and unique” sandbox experience.

Seeing the success of the original title, I think it is a very good idea to build on it further. The recently achieved milestone of 500,000 in sales is just another evidence of the same.

Do you think Terraria has reached its potential of sales? Or will it continue to grow?
