Fan of Spider Man? We have some great news for you then. The popular web-slinger will make an appearance in an animated film, according to an announcement by Sony. The new film is being directed by The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller .
The news was announced at CinemaCon by Sony where fans were hoping they would address what happened with “The Interview.” Unfortunately, they didn’t!
Just a few months ago, Sony was hacked and there were several terrorist threats to the company. In the light of these events, many theater chains didn’t show the film.
During the event Sony Pictures Entertainment’s new chairman, Tom Rothman said to theater owners that Sony has come out strong from the hack and has “thrived” since then.
Their presentation at CinemaCon featured no direct mention of “The Interview,” instead they went on to announce Spider-Man animated. The film is planned for a release in July, 2018.
Apart from that, there is nothing much to share about the new film. More details about it will be revealed close to release. Hopefully, the movie will live-up to expectations.
