Total War: Warhammer has been officially announced by Creative Assembly, taking fans on a joyous ride into the realm of fantasy.
An accompanying cinematic trailer to the announcement does well in raising our excitement for the long rumored game. The video is completely done in CGI and hence the final in-game look will probably be not what we’re seeing here.
“Our rules have changed, and with change comes war on a scale as yet unimagined,” teases Creative Assembly. “Gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power take their place on the battlefield, alongside thousands of warriors clashing in real-time tactical battles. All at YOUR command.”
Total War: Warhammher was accidentally leaked in January this year when fans spotted a reference to the game in The Art of Total War book. While neither the publisher nor the developer commented on the find, fans instantly connected the game to Creative Assembly’s deal from 2012 where it agreed to make multiple games in the Warhammer universe.
Since the game has finally been announced, we expect Sega and Creative Assembly to frequently reveal more information in the days to come. A release date is yet to be mentioned, but hopefully will be late 2015.
