Gaming peripherals manufacturer Mad Catz has announced that it will be co-publishing Rock Band 4 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The company will be handling global retail sales, promotion and distribution of the game, as well as hardware bundles. Developer Harmonix on the other hand will be taking charge of downloadable digital sales and content.
“Mad Catz have a deep appreciation for the amazing work by Harmonix and we can’t wait to play our part in delivering Rock Band to passionate gamers everywhere! Co-publishing the game allows us to work closer than ever before with Harmonix, delivering a seamless experience from game through hardware and ensuring that we focus on the needs of the gamer first and foremost!” wrote company spokesperson Alex Verrey on the Mad Catz website.
Mad Catz will be putting its knowledge to good use by developing a new range of wireless game controllers, covering guitar, bass, drums, and microphones for Rock Band 4. More information on these peripherals will arrive in the weeks to come.
Rock Band 4 was announced last month and is slated for release later this year for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It has been confirmed that players will be able to use their old Rock Band peripherals with the new game, as well as being able to import all of their old songs.
