Another week has started, which means there’s another episode of The Next Segment discussing the biggest news in games recently. There have been quite a few things to go over.
For instance, Mortal Kombat X has made a splash in multiple areas since launch. Most importantly, its micro-transaction system for easy fatalities has attracted some rather bitter attention.
There were also some launch issues Mortal Kombat X had to deal with that left some people feeling sour. On the other end, some downloadable content (DLC) may be accessible for free, so it’s not all bad.
Publisher EA is closing down four of its free-to-play titles. Battlefield Heroes, Need for Speed World, Battlefield Play4Free and FIFA World will all fall victim to closure, so we highly recommend checking them out while you still can.
Youtube’s biggest star, PewDiePie, will receive their own game. It’s a simple platform affair filled with the character’s personality.
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has officially been announced by publisher Square Enix. It will still be possible to play this continuation in the series on a Playstation 3, but also PS4.
Star Wars Battlefront continues the space theme. A leak has gotten EA to reveal the release date, which will fall in November, on time for the latest movie. Which of the two are you the most excited about though?
We also discuss the biggest game on The Next Segment and of course it’s Grand Theft Auto V. Despite also having some launch issues, the PC release was so successful that it was able to break some Steam records.
We’re out to find the latest big thing to feature in The Next Segment. If you see something, give us a holler.
