As much as we are happy that iconic faces of Star Wars are returning to its seventh installment, it is hard for me to say that Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia won’t be returning with her futuristic buns.
Carrie Fisher revealed on Thursday in California that her buns will be tied but her character will be returning with another iconic hairstyle. Although details about her appearance are being kept under the wraps.
“The buns are tired now – so no you’re not going to have the futuristic buns. We have an alternate thing that I think you’ll be into – that is not the metal bikini, I promise”
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting cinemas with its old actors like Harrison Ford, R2-D2 and Chewbacca. Fisher and Mark Hamill also shared their thoughts about being a part of such a huge franchise and how the movie has been a part of their life ever since.
Hamil told the crowd that the passion Star Wars audience had was remarkable and that he is Thankful to all fans out there.
“I just have a simple message to people watching this around the globe – thank you. If not for the ultra-passionate super fans, we wouldn’t be here… Over the years, my entire adult life, I’ve felt such love from you. You’re more than just fans, you’re family.”
Fisher added she enjoyed being a part of people’s childhood and she loved being the Star Wars toy which everyone enjoyed playing with.
“It’s amazing to be a part of so many people’s childhoods and be a toy at the same time. Thanks for playing with me.”
At the celebration, a brand new trailer was also unveiled. Star Wars: The Force Awakens premieres on 18 December.
