Formula 1 Star Lewis Hamilton on Champagne Spray, “I Never Intended to Offend”

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton was accused of treating a woman with disrespect after he sprayed champagne at the podium model Liu Siying while celebrating his victory at Chinese Grand Prix.

Foreign media criticized him for his inappropriate behavior however, neither Hamilton nor Siying seem upset about the issue. They both were absolutely fine with what happened and did not even think about it until it was brought into their attention.

Model Liu Siying said that the champagne spray lasted for mere seconds and she did not think about it. She was told to stand at the podium and that is exactly what she did.

β€œIt lasted for only one or two seconds, and I did not think too much about it at all. I think some foreign media are more sensitive about the topic compared to local media. I was just told by my employer to stand on the podium, and that’s what I did.”

Hamilton was rather shocked to hear what the media was saying about his actions. He said it was a celebration podium and it is meant for having fun and that is what he was doing. Good thing is both people involved in the case are not that concerned about what happened.

β€œI would never set out to disrespect or embarrass anybody, be it a man or a woman, and that wasn’t the case on Sunday, either. I certainly did not see it that way at the time – most people laugh if we spray them on the podium – and I was pleased to hear that the lady in question was not upset, either.”

Considering that neither one of the stars involved are worried, this case will go away quickly.
