It’s time to grab the wheel and burn some rubber on last-gen consoles and PC, as NASCAR 15 is being released on May 22nd. The news was confirmed by Dusenberry Martin Racing in a press-release.
There’s more, those looking forward to getting the retail version of NASCAR 15 will have to visit GameStop, as the title is exclusive to the retailer. Starting May 22, the game will be available to purchase for $19.99. Digital version will also be purchasable from Xbox Live, Steam and PlayStation Network.
GameStop has also partnered with Joe Gibbs Racing to become its in-store retailer. GameStop said that its partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing is an integral part of their marketing strategy.
Blake Davidson, Vice President of Licensing and Consumer Products for NASCAR says in the press release:
NASCAR continues to seek ways to engage fans across multiple platforms, and NASCAR ’15 is the latest way fans can interact with our sport. The release of NASCAR ’15 is the first step in a long-term plan with Dusenberry Martin Racing to take an aggressive approach to create innovative gaming products that puts racing in the hands of NASCAR fans and gamers alike.
NASCAR 15 shouldn’t be considered a full sequel to NASCAR 14, it’s more of an update rather than a full game. Which explains the reduced price.
However, the game does feature the new season schedule, some driver changes, more than 60 paint schemes, several bug fixes for online mode that will ensure 16 player races.
There won’t be any challenge updates inline with the new season, but future paint scheme DLCs will be offered.
