Mortal Kombat X is just a few days away from release and by god the brutality I have seen so far in that game is off the charts. In my books, it’s already the best Mortal Kombat.
All the action from the latest installment, all the Kombat and the brutality will be shown-off during the Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament. The following eight players are participating in the tournament:
- Malik “MIT” Terry
- Christian “KiT Forever King” Quiles
- Elijah “Tyrant” Williamson
- Dominique “CR_SonicFox” McLean
- Carl “Perfect Legend” White
- Ryan “Ketchup” Neal
- Tony “TONY-T” Pert
- Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart
The total prize pool of the tournament is $10,000, from which $5000 will be handed over to the winner. Matches will be single elimination in a best of five series.
Hosting responsibilities will be taken by Joshua Grey and the following:
- Bill “Tom Brady” Menoutis
- David Phillip “UltraDavid” Graham
- Brian “EGP_Compton” Compton
- Dustin “Godspeed” Kane
- Jake “Mustard” Neal
As for the venue, it’s the ESL America Burbank Studio where the tournament will be held later today at 2PM PST. If you are not visiting in person, you can watch a live stream on Twitch.Tv.
Mortal Kombat X features a total of 29 fighters including four DLC characters such as Jason, Predator etc. Each fighter in the game will have different fighting variations and a set of Fatalities, Brutalities.
The game is slated for an April 14 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. However, a delay has hit the game’s PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version.
Both versions are expected sometime this summer. Developers haven’t yet announced a release date but according to a listing on GameStop, Mortal Kombat X will release on June 2 for last-gen systems.
