Have you ever wondered if we will ever live in a world where there’s no Final Fantasy? The series has been around for decades and there seem to be no end to it.
Not that I hate FF games, it’s just that they should try something new in this genre. Anyways, according to a new announcement, Dissidia Final Fantasy is coming to Japanese Arcade later this year. The game is in development at Team Ninja, known for their work on Dead or Alive.
It is reported that it is a 3v3 fighter and is being develop using PS4’s core technology. The game will see a full release in Autumn, but location tests will be held before that.
The fact that arcade version is being build using PS4 tech indicates towards its release on PlayStation 4. However, Square Enix or Team Ninja is yet to formally announce a console version of the game.
The report also claims that players will be able to play as Cloud, Lightning, Y’shtola, Tina Branford, Onion Knight and Warrior of Light. They will also have the ability to summon creatures into the battle.
Earlier games in the Dissidia series were for PSP and developed by Square Enix themselves. It isn’t yet clear if the new Dissidia Final fantasy title will release outside of Japan and whether it will come to handhelds or not.
We’ll let you know as soon as more details are shared regarding the game. Till then, feel free to let us know what you think of this new game in the comments.
