Runeblade is “the first fantasy adventure title” designed for smartwatches and set to launch for Apple Watch this month, developer Everywear Games has announced.
Described as a glance-based title which delivers “twitter-sized entertainment,” Runeblade pits players against an ancient evil with mythological bosses and monsters that are trying to destroy the world.
Armed with a War Mage’s sword and magic spells, players can also use enchanted runes and other artifacts to boost their power and annihilate any demonic being that gets in your path.
“With Runeblade, we wanted to create a fresh, new kind of gaming experience on smartwatches,” said Aki Järvilehto, CEO of Everywear Games. “The game is designed to be played in 5-15 second sessions and builds over time as you progress through the journey.”
Runeblade is going to release later this month as a free to download game on Apple Watch. The developer has promised to update the game frequently to bring in new levels, enemies and features.
The Apple Watch is now available to order online or through select Apple Stores. You’ll have to wait on your order though, since the entire stock was sold out within thirty minutes of opening. Currently, the wearable tech has you waiting for up to six weeks before your order will materialize.
