In the past, Call of Duty titles have been moving in and out of multiple Nintendo platforms. From their four main story arcs, some games would be released to Nintendo’s home console, others would simply miss them out with no visible consistency.
However, the recently revealed Call of Duty Black Ops 3 could be one of those COD titles that will be all inclusive towards the major platforms.
Now don’t jump already, nothing has been confirmed – heck Treyarch is even holding off the game’s full reveal until later this month, let alone confirmation of platforms it will come to.
Any how, the reason why I am saying that it is going to make it to the latest home console of Nintendo i.e. Wii U is a small update we have seen to the game’s official website.
As you can see in the images below the Account Manage Page has been updated by Activision and now it also offers you to link your Nintendo account with it – among PlayStation Network and Xbox Live accounts.
If you look at the last release i.e. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, you will see the difference. In the case of Advanced Warfare, the publisher had offered account linking options for PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and Steam. In line with that, the game was released to the three platforms and not Nintendo.
Now that they have updated the page – peculiarly after the initial reveal of Call of Duty Black Ops 3 – it gives rise to an expectation that a Wii U release is imminent.
However, I am only speculating; so it would be wise to let Treyarch confirm or deny these details for Black Ops 3 first.
