Riot Games has announced that League of Legends World Championship 2015 will be hosted in Europe this October.
The prestigious event will take notes from last year and once again take route through multiple cities across multiple countries, changing venues for the group stages, quarter finals, semifinals and the grand final.
This year, the tournament will touch Paris, London, Brussels, and Berlin. Here’s the full list of dates and venues provided by Riot Games:
- Group Stages: October 1-4 and October 8-11 – Le Dock Pullman, Paris
- Quarterfinals: October 15-18 – SSE Arena Wembley, London
- Semifinals: October 24-25 – Brussels Expo, Brussels
- Finals: October 31 – Mercedes-Benz Arena (currently O2 World – Berlin)
Ticking information is not available right now, but the developer has promised to release that in the next few weeks.
Rather than hosting the entire tournament at a single location, Riot Games has opted to run through multiple cities to divide the experience between fans. Last year’s ‘Worlds’ stretched across Taipei, Singapore and Korea.
The final event featured over 40,000 fans who attended the Sangnam World Cup Stadium in Seoul, and performances from Imagine Dragons. Samsung White, representing Korea, took home the crown by annihilating its competition throughout the tournament, in the process pocketing $1 million. Second place went to Star Horn Royal Club from China, who took home $250,000.
