Kathy Bates on Board For American Horror Story: Hotel

It is official, American Horror Story: Hotel’s showrunner Ryan Murphy confirmed it on Wednesday that Kathy Bates will return to the fifth season of American Horror Story.

Murphy announced via Twitter:

Bates has previously appeared in “Coven” and “Freak Show”, following the fifth season Hotel, Bates will be returning to the franchise for the third time. Bates’ Madame Delphine LaLaurie won her the award for supporting actress in a TV movie at the Emmys.

The return of American Horror Story’s other vets Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Dennis O’Hare, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters is still in the pipeline with no official updates. However, Chloe Sevigny, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson will be a part of Hotel’s cast.

Kathy has previously starred in Fried Green Tomatoes, Titanic and Misery. Her ability to do every character effortlessly makes her one of the most versatile actors on Television.

With all these new additions, the face of American Horror Story Jessica Lange won’t be returning to the show. She announced it a month back that ‘Freak Show’ will be her last season with the AHS family.

Plot details about the character and the show itself are kept under the wraps for now, Twentieth Century Fox Television will begin production of the fifth season in late summer.

The 13-episode run of American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere on FX in October.
