A recent listing from GameStop Italy suggests that the highly anticipated Star Wars: Battlefront will release on December 10 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Provided that the listing is correct, the game will be available in time for the release of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, making this a memorable year for Star Wars fans.
Officially, no release date for the upcoming shooter has been provided. Hence, this date by the retailer should be taken with a grain of salt. Placeholders are usually given away by setting dates to the last day of the year. December 10 sounds awfully close, but could also be suggestive to a close holiday release.
GameStop Italy was also recently responsible for posting a release date for Rainbow Six: Siege. That date however, was soon pulled shortly after. We’ll see if this is all just a rouse to achieve some quick advertisement points and in turn pre-orders.
Star Wars: Battlefront will get a debut reveal trailer on April 17 during the Star Wars celebration. Perhaps a release date will be given then.
A couple of days ago, it was reported that EA is seeking play-testers to try four hours of the game in their San Fransisco, CA and Vancouver, BC studios on April 10, under a non-disclosure agreement. Despite an NDA, it’s possible that we’ll be treated to some ‘leaked’ footage nonetheless.
