George R.R. Martin Working on a New Series Captain Cosmos for HBO

One day we’re hearing that Game of Thrones’ epic writer won’t be writing for the series as he is running short on time and has to complete The Winds of Winter and now we get the news that he will be penning down another series for HBO.

George R.R. Martin revealed it to Entertainment Weekly that he is currently working on another script for the channel currently titled ‘Captain Cosmos’. The possible series focuses on an imaginative writer from 1949. He writes Sci-Fi stories that no one else dares to recall during the Age of Dawn.

Michael Cassutt has written the pilot of Captain Cosmos and the show is in early stage of development. Martin is currently involved in the whole production process (as he was in the early years of Game of Thrones). As for Cassutt, he has written Odyssey 5, Stargate SG-1, Farscape and Andromeda scripts.

Martin has been writing horror and Sci-Fi’s from the age of 21. He was associated with the scripts of movies like Beauty and the Beast, The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.

Game of Thrones has given an average rating of 18.6 million viewers across the seas to HBO. Game of Thrones season 5 premieres on April 12 worldwide.
