Terminator Salvation was the first installment in the franchise, which did not feature Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leading man. Schwarzenegger discussed with ABC News along with Terminator: Genisys cast and crew that Salvation was a bullet, which he dodged.
“I did not, no … thank God. It sucked,” said the star and face of Terminator movies. These were some harsh words, but aren’t you now back with the franchise? Could have kept it less bitter because you know the ‘fans’ are still hearing you.
He made a choice of skipping this one and saved him from all the critics as the storyline was just ‘pedestrian’. Although Schwarzenegger was CGI’d to show a younger version of him but the fans did not quite like it (yes it is the same software used in Furious 7).
Salvation was all set to roll, the producers created enough hype, teasers seemed interesting and they even featured John Connor (Christian Bale) riding a white horse. However, Schwarzenegger’s absence just killed all Terminator vibes for its fans.
Terminator: Genisys is up on Schwarzenegger’s radar and he seems excited about returning and looking into the new turns the movie is going to take. Arnold’s last movie as the Terminator’s star was Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines in 2003.
Terminator: Genisys will premiere on 1 July 2015.
