If I had a dollar every time I have written about a delayed game in the last year or so, I would be closing in on enough money to get a console.
The one we have at hand this time is Quantum Break – the really, really interesting idea of a game that someehow wouldn’t come out into the markets.
However, the delay of Quantum Break is not being regarded as something that was unavoidable. In fact, Microsoft is implying that they delayed the title because they already have many other games that are going to be released this year.
Head of publishing at Microsoft, Shannon Loftis listed a number of games coming this year and hinted that “more we’ll announce in the coming months” before adding that “with so many games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP.”
The creative director for Quantum Break at Remedy Entertainment, Sam Lake – the same guy who refers to this title as the ultimate Remedy game – also added a comment saying that they will be using the additional time to further polish the game:
We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.
This is the second time that Quantum Break has been treated as such, what is it, their stepson?
