Freedom Wars Sequel Could Happen if You Demand it

Freedom Wars, the Japanese action role playing game was made in collaboration between Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio, Shift and Dimps.

In case you want that collaboration to continue and bring you another game in the series, you should know that it depends solely on how much you really show that you need it.

Talking to Japanese magazine Famitsu, the game producer Junichi Yoshizawa of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio said that his personal intention of making a Freedom Wars sequel was not enough.

He was attending a fan meeting in Okinawa where a lot of fans showed their interest in the next installment in the series:

Whether or not we can make a sequel cannot be decided by my intentions alone. But in the end, it’s important for players to speak up so we can know if that demand exists or not. We’ve had a lot of supportive people at this event, and for that I was really happy.

We heard things like ‘I want to see the next game,’ ‘I want to play even more.’ And we want to make it, too, but since it’s one of those things that’s otherwise hard to gauge, to hear it directly from the fans has been a really great opportunity.

So yeah, the guys who were in Okinawa have spoken up; but now it is up to the community at large to let the developers know you want another go at it.

Freedom Wars was a PlayStation Vita exclusive which was released in Japan on June 26, 2014; in North America on October 28, 2014 and finally in European Union on October 29, 2014.
