PlayStation Music gets Spotify in 41 Countries Today!

It was revealed recently that PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 were to get Spotify; it came real quick and now the users in 41 different countries will be able to use the service from today!

Eric Lempel, the vice president of Sony Network Entertainment took to the official PlayStation Blog with the announcement post:

In January, we announced PlayStation Music, a new music destination that brings Spotify to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, and Xperia mobile devices in 41 markets around the world. This exclusive partnership brings the best in music and the best in gaming together on PlayStation Network, and I am thrilled to announce that Spotify on PlayStation Music is coming to the PS4 and PS3 systems today!

With over 30 million songs and a gigantic 1.5 billion playlists, Spotify is going to add a whole new gaming experience to your PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. According to Lempel, you will be able to add soundtracks to your gaming sessions and control Spotify over at the Spotify Connect app on your smartphones.

The premium service is going to cot you $9.99 a month that you can subscriber to through your account on the console.

However, there are offers that let you check out the premium subscription under certain conditions. Here they are:

  • Music Unlimited subscribers with accounts active as of March 29, 2015, can receive 2 months of free access to Spotify Premium
  • New and existing Spotify users who have not previously received a trial of Spotify Premium can receive one month free

Last but not the least, Lempel said that they were already working with a team to add new exclusive features to PlayStation Music and Spotify on the gaming consoles.
