Doctor Who: Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams Joins the cast
Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams will guest star in Doctor Who (time travelling epic adventure) in its Ninth Season.
The young star who has appeared as a regular in Game of Thrones has decided to take a break from all the fights and setbacks.
The fan favorite duo from season eight Steven Moffat and Jamie Mathieson have written the script, Mathieson confirmed in a tweet that Maisie Williams would guest star in the episode ‘The Girl Who Died’.
Maisie William said on the sets of Doctor Who that appearing in this show has brought her closer to her home and she is excited to be a part of Britain’s culture.
“I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”
Steven Moffat did not reveal specifics about Williams’ character but said that she will challenge the doctor in surprising ways.
“We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
Besides playing Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams has also appeared in Cyberbully and The Falling. Williams was nominated thrice in Screen Actors Guild Awards and received a Shooting Star Award at the Berlin Film Festival.
Doctor Who premieres this Autumn on BBC One.
