Xenoblade Chronicles X Combat, Soundtrack Details Shared by Nintendo

Nintendo has been quite vocal about the combat system of Xenoblade Chronicles X this month, at the start of March they detailed the primary aspects of the battle system in a presentation, but it seems there is more that needs to be shared.

Now, they have filled up the game’s website with all sorts of new bits and pieces of information to get you ready for the Wii U exclusive when it releases next month.

They explained how the timing, choice and the order in which you use the Arts is going to be important based on techniques like combos, toppling, blind spots, parts, and things that will matter in Overclock Gear like count effects, color combos, party chain and re-invoke.

So now we know that using certain Arts is a certain sequence is going to create a combo which increases their power. Similarly, we know that sending an enemy from the Break status to the Topple status is going to let you attack them easily as they get dizzy and you deal 1.5 times the damage.

Moving on to Overclock Gear, using the same color Arts in the count effects technique increases their damage, creating a link between certain colors of attacks using the color combos technique also has the same effect.

Then there are special party based effects that can be used if all the party members have 3000+ TP.

The website is in Japanese, but there are online translations available for everything that there is on the website, you might want to read up on it yourself.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is being developed by Monolith Soft and Nintendo SPD for Wii U. It is going to be released in Japan on April 29, 2015 and later this year in the western territories although we don’t have an official release date for it.
