Star Wars Timeline Reveals When Battlefront Takes Place

Thanks to a Star Wars infographic spotted in the Amazon preview for the upcoming paperback edition of Star Wars: A New Dawn, we now have the updated canon for all upcoming Star Wars movies, TV shows, books and video games.

According to the timeline, Star Wars: Battlefront is going to take place between A New Hope: Heir to the Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back. However, it’s also possible that the the Battlefront listing has more to do with the books and that the game itself will take some new routes within this timeline.

According to a recent report, a bunch of characters that are to appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens are first going to appear in Star Wars: Battlefront.

Furthermore, the upcoming game will also feature some opening scenes from the movie.

The same report dictates that players will be able to choose some of these characters – both from the Republic and Empire sides. All the characters we know so far include “Oscar Isaac as the Republic fighter pilot Poe Dameron, John Boyega as Finn in a Stormtrooper uniform and Daisy Ridley as the character Rey.”

Star Wars: Battlefront is in development for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. A release date is yet to be announced but we can expect the title later this year.
