First Xbox One April Preview Update Improves Party Chat, Achievements and More

By   /   Mar 22, 2015

Xbox One’s April update is going to be rolled out in two waves, with the first wave already released (for preview members) and the second to arrive next week, the company’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced a couple of days ago.

The first wave of updates include significant improvements to Party Chat, with troubleshooting guidance for Xbox One owners and the Party App helping you enable your microphone.

The app will also inform you when privacy settings or network issues are blocking communications with particular party members.

The Game Hub Links will help users discover more content from activity feed. This feed is updated when your friends follow a game, and includes items about the game’s achievements, video clips, screenshots, and statistics.

Microsoft is also improving Achievement Notifications. You’ll now also see the achievement’s description in the notification bar so you know what you did to earn this achievement without having to open the achievements app.

If you do decide to launch the Achievements app, you may notice performance improvements that will allow the app to operate faster.

The second part of the update will arrive next week, and it will be when Microsoft informs us of what new features it will be bringing to the console.
