StarCraft 2 World Championship Finals are Being Held in France

Participants of the StarCraft 2 World Championship are heading to France. According to ESL, the World Championships series finals will take place at Gamers Assembly in Poitiers, France.

Top 16 gamers from North America, Europe, China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Latin America will compete for $217,000 from April 3-5.

According to David Kugelmann, product manager at ESL:

France boasts one of the world’s most concentrated StarCraft 2 communities in the world. Gamers Assembly, which has been steadily growing since its conception in the early 2000s, was the perfect choice of location for the Season 1 Finals.

Broadcasters from O’Gaming will take up the responsibilities of commentary and live coverage.

In related news, ESL is also making a documentary called “ALL WORK ALL PLAY: The Pursuit of eSports Glory.”

It is directed by Patrick Creadon and feature ESL players and personalities. It will also feature behind the scenes production and planning of ESL’s Intel® Extreme Masters.

ESL studio’s in Burbank, CA is the venue for this documentary’s world premier on July 23rd.
