NBC Hires Jerrod Carmichael For New Untitled Comedy Show
NBC ordered a new untitled comedy starring Jerrod Carmichael.
Jerrod Carmichael’s new untitled project will be a six episodes situation comedy commonly known as a sitcom. Deadline reports that the projects’ script is written by Nick Stoller and Carmichael. Both of these are the executive producers along with Ravi Nandan. Stoller previously directed Carmichael’s movie Neighbors.
Carmichael is a writer and actor, his most recent works include Neighbors, Jerrod Carmichael: Love at the Store and yet to release sitcom Go Jerrod Go (now untitled).
Pilot for this series was shot one year back but the project was dropped for some reason. However, NBC is giving the six-episode miniseries another chance
Rumors are NBC president Jennifer Salke, always wanted to do something with Carmichael right after they first did the feature film and he was at priority for the network. Salke seemed pretty excited when she gave comments about how she is looking forward for the project to go into production.
“We’re excited to be going forward to series with Jerrod. We can’t wait to see how he and his outstanding cast deliver the funny.”
Carmichael will be the center of the show as it revolves around his life and all the relationships keeping him sane and making him insane.
Other cast members include Loretta Devine as his mother who ‘loves’ Jesus, David Alan Grier as the character’s father, Amber Stevens West as his girlfriend who is about to become a therapist and Lil Rel Howery as his brother.
